Courtesy visit by the TENS Team to the Governor of Niger State

On the afternoon of July 25, dignitaries, education representatives and media personalities were seated as the TENS team came on a courtesy visit to the Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello.The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Hajia Fatima n. Madugu opened the meeting by summarising what the TENS programme was about and how far they have gone to achieve their goal. Executive director, MRL Consultants, Dr. Roni Ajao introduced the TENS Team. Professor Colleen McLaughlin of the faculty of Education, Cambridge University represented the TENS team and introduced the stake holders programme event and its benefits.

Issues were discussed about the challenges faced in schools in Niger State and possible solutions were suggested.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the TENS team, welcome them to Niger state and presented the ‘Tasa’, a locally made bronze calabash as gifts.

The transforming Education in Niger State (TENS) programme is organised by the Niger State government in partnership with Cambridge University and MRL Public Sector Consultants, UK.
