Jan Schofield MEd, BEd (Hons)

Jan Schofield is a Teaching Associate with the Schools University Partnership for Educational Research (SUPER) team at the Faculty of Education, whilst continuing to work as an Assistant Head Teacher at Biddenham International School and Sports College – one of the SUPER partnership schools in Bedfordshire.

She is a member of the MEd teaching team at the Institute of Education as well as supporting the work of the network through critical friendship. She has particular interests in partnership, networking, professional development and teacher education and training.

Jan is a member of the team at the Faculty and SUPER schools who are involved in the Kazakhstan Integrated Programme for Development supporting colleagues developing action research in schools.

Since studying Masters level at the Faculty, which included research with the UK Department for Education and Skills, Jan has held a range of posts involving higher education and school partnerships with many educational stakeholders. These include, as an Additional Inspector with Ofsted inspecting Secondary Initial Teacher Training in Higher Education Institutions; as a practitioner researcher with the Teacher Development Agency and as National Co-ordinator for Applied Learning with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

The latter included research and development in applied learning with higher education institutions, leading on High Performing Specialist Schools and as a member of the National Travel and Tourism Diploma Development Partnership Group and Expert Panel.
