Legal Team Member

Umar is a member of the TENS Legal Team responsible for the review of Niger State Legislative and Educational policies. His responsibilities in the team includes examining Federal laws and policies governing Education laws in Nigeria and examining Niger State laws and policies in operation in the State.

Umar is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has vast experience in legal research and had previously worked with the Kebbi State Ministry of Justice, Birnin-Kebbi and the law firm of P.O. Oshoture & Co. He also served as the Head of Chambers, Saka Abubakar & Co.

In addition to his commitment to the TENS Programme, Umar functions as an associate at VATad Solicitors. During his sojourn   at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the Nigerian Law School, he occupied various leadership positions ranging from Chairman Council of Principal Partners, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Principal Partner, Attorneys Chambers, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; and Group Eight Chairman Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He was the winner of Property Law Practice Quiz at Nigerian Law School, Lagos held in March 2011.

Umar graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. He further obtained an LL.M in Commercial Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2016.
