Legal Team Member

Yakubu’s contributions to the team includes active participation in the examination of Federal and State Education laws; introduction of new policies and laws within the parameters of the Legal framework; and proposing recommendations that can improve Niger State Laws and Policies on Primary and Secondary School system of education.

Yakubu is a Barrister and Solicitor of the supreme court of Nigeria. He was the Batallion Legal Officer of the Nigerian Army. 177 Guards’ Battalion, Keffi Nasarawa State.

Yakubu’s legal experience cuts across several spheres in several capacities, such as: Associate, Chief Kunle Oyewo & Co; Manager, Legal and Governance, Pomeroy International Consulting – a consortium of Britons and Nigerian real estate developers; Legal Counsel, Police Pensions Board; Principal State Counsel, Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja, Nigeria and Consultant, VATad Solicitors, Lagos, Nigeria.

Yakubu graduated from Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. He obtained his LLM in General Law from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 2008. He won the price for the best undergraduate student in Human Rights Law, Constitutional Law, Nigerian Legal System and Criminal Law.
