In a significant step towards revolutionising education in Niger State, the TENS II Programme recently proudly conducted a pivotal training session for Local Government Area (LGA) managers as part of the delivery of the Education Census under MRL® Public Sector Consultants Ltd. Training Overview
On the 1st of July 2024, a landmark training session unfolded at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy premises, uniting core team members from all 25 LGAs across Niger State. The session commenced underscoring the commitment and readiness of the participating managers.
Key Highlights of the Training
The TENS II Programme training equipped LGA managers with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. The sessions covered understanding the project’s goals and their role, identifying schools in need, data collection using KOBO TOOLBOX, health and safety protocols, team leadership selection, and fostering inclusivity by encouraging women’s participation. This comprehensive training, along with high-level government support, paves the way for successful programme implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement:
The training garnered high-level support with the Permanent Secretary to the Commissioner and key ministry personnel actively participating. This demonstrated governmental commitment and ensured alignment between state-level initiatives and grassroots implementation.
Inclusivity and Empowerment:
Upholding principles of inclusivity, the TENS II Programme actively encourages gender parity in project implementation. Women were particularly encouraged to take part, fostering a diverse and inclusive approach to educational development in Niger State.
