Setting the direction for education reform

The Steering Committee held its first meeting on 27 June 2024 at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Commissioner Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed hosted stakeholders working to strengthen education in Niger State.

THE FIRST MEETING

Reviewing progress and next steps

Members reviewed the programme scope, goals and timeline. The implementation team gathered feedback on draft school-survey materials and focus-group plans.

Discussion then turned to recruiting and training LGA managers for work across all 25 local government areas, mobilising resources, and keeping stakeholders informed through a newsletter and dedicated website.

COLLABORATION

A shared commitment

After questions and discussion, members agreed the arrangements for their next meeting. The inaugural session closed with a shared commitment to move the TENS II Programme forward.
